Brow Lamination Consent

DESCRIPTION OF TREATMENT

Using a keratin lamination solution your natural brow hairs are re-shaped to create a thick, fluffy, full look that can last up to 6-8 weeks. After lamination, eyebrows must stay dry for 24 hours.

POTENTIAL RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS

Please advise the service provider of any concerns you may have prior to the brow lamination procedure. The length of time for which the lamination effect will last cannot be determined with certainty and depends on various factors, including an individual’s hair and skin type. Despite the use of the highest-quality products and materials, an allergic reaction is possible. Some redness of the skin or mild sensitivity is normal but does not typically last more than a few hours.

Notification of relevant conditions

Always tell your service provider what medications you are taking and if you have had any recent surgery, including cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. Because medications are excreted through the hair, including the eyebrows, they could affect the outcome of the lamination procedure. If any of the following conditions apply to you, it is imperative that you inform your technician as it may affect your eligibility for this procedure:

  • Psoriasis/severe eczema

  • Recent eye surgery

  • Alopecia

  • Recent microblading (must wait at least 8 weeks)

  • Sunburn

  • Highly sensitive skin

  • Blood thinners

  • Pink eye

  • Scar tissue in the treatment area

  • Pregnant/breastfeeding

  • Retinol, Accutane, AHA, BHA, etc. (can cause skin sensitivity)

  • Current or recent chemotherapy treatments (Doctor’s approval required in either case)

  • Hormones or high blood pressure medications (tend to raise body temperature in brow area, accelerating lamination process)

  • Low blood sugar medication (can reduce duration of lamination effect)

  • Iron supplements (can cause eyebrows to be more resistant to lamination)

  • Other relevant conditions that may affect the procedure

Pre-care

Please follow the guidelines below to prepare for your treatment and ensure the best possible outcome:

  • Avoid henna or tint in the brow area in the weeks prior to the lamination as it may be affected by the treatment

  • Avoid using exfoliating (AHA, BHA, scrubs, etc.) or anti-aging skincare products around the brow area for three days prior to your treatment

  • Avoid tanning products on the face for three days either side of your treatment as lamination can discolor the product

  • If caffeine makes you fidgety or have difficulty remaining still, avoid caffeine the day of the appointment

  • Remove any make-up in the brow area before your appointment

  • If you need to wash your hair, do so before your appointment to avoid wetting your eyebrows for at least 24 hours after treatment

aFtercare

To ensure your brow lamination lasts as long as possible, it is important to adhere to the following aftercare instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may reduce the longevity of your brow lamination and the overall performance of your procedure:

  • After the treatment, do not wet your eyebrows for 24 hours

  • Avoid applying make-up on the area for 24 hours

  • Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for 48 hours

  • Brush your brows at least once a day

  • Apply a brow conditioning serum or castor oil daily to keep brows healthy and hydrated

  • Do not sleep face-down

  • Avoid rubbing or touching (hats, hands, etc.) the treated area as much as possible

  • Avoid face scrubs, peels, and harsh cleansers

  • To cleanse the area, use a gentle, oil-free creamy cleanser

  • A quality eyebrow gel can be used to enhance laminated brows and maintain a freshly laminated look right up to your next appointment
