Womben’s Circle Consent
what to expect
Through movement, breath, sound, and the power of our own expression, we experience magical emotional and physical releases during and after The Womban's Circle.
Can I participate?
Womben that the circle may not be recommended for include those experiencing the following:
Cardiovascular diseases & Heart related illness including: cardiac arrhythmia, angina, recent heart attack, as well as other heart related conditions
Glaucoma or Retinal detachment: our bodies receive oxygen through our eyes. So those with significant vision impairments may want to avoid breathwork, as eye problems could potentially limit the amount of air inhaled
Seizures
Family history of aneurysms
Breathwork is wonderful for those with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. However, it is not a cure for mental illness. If you have a severe mental illness please work with your doctor to determine if breathwork would be a supportive practice for healing
If you've had a recent surgery, please discuss with Julie in detail before registering
Pregnant or Breastfeeding
How to prepare
Preparatory & Integrative Practice to receive the most benefit from The Womban's Circle:
Eat cleanly the days leading up to, day of, & days following The Womban's Circle to receive the most benefit
Avoid heavy meals in the hours leading up to the journey. We will be moving, grooving, and activating our diaphragmatic muscles and pelvic floor muscles for extended periods of time. It is more challenging to activate with a very full stomach.
Hydrate well before and after our journey together to encourage the organs to irrigate and issues to move fully through our tissues
Get lots of rest, limit screen time, & love on yourself the way you want others to love on you too
If you are feeling unwell days leading up to the event, with flu, viral, respiratory or covid-like symptoms, please let us know and we will credit your account for participation in one of the following Womban's Circles
What to wear & what to bring
Wear comfortable athletic clothing that permits your body to move freely and your abdomen to expand fully
We do build heat in the body during our embodiment practice, so wicking fabrics or organic fibers are wonderful
Bring a water bottle if you prefer your own bottle to a reusable cup
If you prefer to use your own eye mask and have a particular blankie you love, you're welcome to bring that too (eye masks & blankets are provided)
Lastly, and most importantly, come as you are. whether it's been a brutal day, a fantastic day, your hair is unwashed, the list goes on. However you are is perfectly imperfect and we welcome all of it
